Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
The Prayer of Confession (after silent confession)
All: Heavenly Father, we are reminded of Your great majesty in Your word. You are enthroned over all the earth, You are worshiped by the angels, and You are holy. Yet we have sinned against You. Woe are we, O Lord. We have not been holy as You are holy. Instead of praising You and speaking the truth about You, our lips have uttered unclean things. We are indeed a people of unclean lips. Because of our sins, we will die. Forgive us, O Lord, according to Your great compassion. Cleanse us of our sins, for Your namesake. We ask in the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen. (Isaiah 6)
The Assurance of Pardon - Colossians 2:13,14 “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.”
