The Lord’s Day ~ March 2, 2008The Preparation for Worship

Let us prepare our hearts for the worship of God.

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)

Welcome and Announcements

The Adoration of God

Call to Worship: Psalm 79:9-10 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; and deliver us, and provide atonement for our sins, for Your name’s sake! Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let there be known among the nations in our sight the avenging of the blood of Your servants which has been shed

*Psalm of Praise - Psalm 79

The Confession of Sin

The Call to Repentance - Titus 3:9-15

But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned. When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey with haste, that they may lack nothing. And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful. All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

The Prayer of Confession (after silent confession)

All: LORD God, we are defiled by our own ways and deeds. We have profaned Your holy name wherever we have gone. Save us, O LORD, not for our sake, but for Your holy name’s sake, so that the nations may know You are the LORD. Cleanse us, and we will be clean. Cleanse us from our filthiness and idolatry. By Your Spirit cause us to walk in Your statutes and keep Your judgments. Help us to remember our evil ways and deeds that are not good, so that we may loathe them in our own sight, for our iniquities are abominations in Your holy sight. May we be ashamed for our ways. Cleanse us from our iniquities. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen. (Ezekiel 36)

The Assurance of Pardon - Lamentations 3:22 “It is by the LORD’s kindnesses that we are not destroyed, because His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
