The Lord’s Day ~ February 24, 2008The Preparation for Worship
Let us prepare our hearts for the worship of God.
“Oh worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.” (Psalm 96:9)

Welcome and Announcements
The Adoration of God
Call to Worship: Psalm 78:1-4 “Give ear, O my people, to my law; incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.”
*Psalm of Praise - Psalm 77
Speaker: The LORD is in His holy temple,
All: Let all the earth keep silence before Him. (Habakkuk 2:20)

The Confession of Sin
The Call to Repentance - Titus 3:4-8
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
The Prayer of Confession (after silent confession)
All: Most holy and merciful Father, we acknowledge and confess before You our sinful hearts - prone to evil and slothful in good - and all our shortcomings and offenses against You. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from Your ways, in wasting Your gifts, in forgetting Your love. O Lord, have mercy on us, who are ashamed and sorry for all wherein we have displeased You. Teach us to hate our errors, cleanse us from our secret faults, and forgive our sins for the sake of Your dear Son. And O most holy and loving Father, send Your purifying grace into our hearts, we pray, that we may henceforth live in Your light and walk in Your ways, according to the commandments of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Assurance of Pardon - Hebrews 9:14 “How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!”
